Event Description:
Twinsburg City School District will be starting a three career path academy in the Fall 2017 that will involve; identified courses currently offered at our high school, courses that are be developed to fill a need for the program (Introduction to Business, and Communications), volunteer opportunities, shadowing opportunities, internship potential and a speakers series that will highlight different speakers that will be varied in industry and topic. It is a four year program that students will apply to be part of and they will be monitored for progress within the academy.
There are currently three paths: Medical, Business/Manufacturing, and Human Performance/Recreational Management. This program will start with the incoming freshmen and expand each year.
Here's where you come in! The school district is need of dynamic speakers to talk with students about the work they do and the path they took to get there. The program is also seeking volunteer opportunities for students to get exposure to companies and the work they do along with input on content for potential classes that are offered at the high school. Potential on site visits for students interested in a particular field. Long term, shadowing opportunities and with students that have been enrolled in the academies for 3-4 years, potential internships.
